The Ossining Food Pantry
currently packs food for more than 200 households every week.
To qualify for the program, clients must meet the Pantry's financial guidelines and be referred by a
social service agency, physician or local clergy.
The Ossining Food Pantry
is operated by more than 100 volunteers who help guide the organization, stock the Pantry,
pack the bags and distribute the food. We have no paid staff whatsoever.
The Ossining Food Pantry
depend on the community for our funding. Several houses of worship, service and civic organizations, school groups and local businesses
conduct food drives, provide money, attend our annual fundraising Celebration and contribute in-kind services.
In a ddition we do receive some grants from corporations and foundations.
Since we are all volunteers, almost all the donations we receive are devoted to our mission
of feeding the hungry.
The Ossining Food Pantry
is a member of the Westchester Coalition for the Hungry and the Homeless and Food-PATCH.
We are a charitable 501(c)(3) not-for-profit "public" corporation and we are registered
with the New York State Board of Charities.
